Certus 3 had developed a highly powerful early-warning system that could accurately predict the future prospects of a project. This gave project owners enough time to take action at the first whiff of smoke (let alone the fire itself!) Despite its usefulness, the app generated results that were cumbersome and difficult for the average layman to interpret and understand. Certus needed a user-centric solution that saved them time creating reports, freeing them up to do what they were best at — face-to-face consulting.
Via an intensive series of workshops with the Certus team we helped draw their deep-seated insights up to the surface. We identified the essence of the app — what it needed to do, and who for.
The insights and understanding we gained from the workshop series informed our design process. We determined the hierarchy of information produced by the app’s reports and visualised this data in a compelling way so that the people who needed to make decisions with it could easily do so.
Our workshop insights revealed points of friction in Certus 3’s processes. The presentation and communication of data that needed manual handling prevented them from working efficiently. Our app addressed this by doing the heavy lifting for them.
